Our process

How we take you from first conversation to a confident launch.

Every StudioRav project follows six stages: discover, plan, build, test, launch and improve. Each stage ends with something you can review and approve, so scope, cost and progress stay visible. Work is built on staging with version control, tested properly, released on a planned date and supported afterwards.

The six stages

How does a StudioRav project work?

The same six stages apply to every project. How much time each one takes depends on the size and complexity of the work.

1

Discover

We learn the business, the users and the technical constraints before anything is proposed.

You receive: a written summary of goals, users and constraints.

Plan

Scope, architecture and a clear roadmap, agreed before build starts.

You receive: scope, approach, estimate and timeline for sign-off.

3

Build

Iterative development on staging with version control and regular reviews, not a big reveal at the end.

You receive: working builds to review as they take shape.

Test

Quality assurance across devices, browsers and the awkward edge cases, plus a fix list.

You receive: test results and confirmation that issues are resolved.

Illustration of step 5, Launch, in the project process, showing Migration, Redirects, Rollback

5

Launch

A planned release with migration, redirects and monitoring handled, and a rollback ready.

You receive: a launch plan, a live site and handover documentation.

Improve

Support, optimisation and the next phase, based on how the work performs.

You receive: reporting and recommendations for what to do next.

Project size

Does the process change for small and complex projects?

The stages stay the same. What changes is how much ceremony each one needs.

Focused scope

Smaller projects

Discovery and planning combined into one short brief

A fixed scope and estimate agreed in writing

One or two review rounds on staging

A quick, planned release

Phased delivery

Larger and more complex projects

A fuller discovery phase covering users, data and integrations

Architecture agreed before build, with a phased roadmap

Regular reviews on staging throughout the build

Staged releases, with testing and monitoring at each one

Working together

What do we need from you?

A good project is a partnership. These are the things that keep it moving.

A clear owner on your side who can make decisions

Access to your existing site, hosting, accounts or data where relevant

Content, brand assets and product information, or time to create them together

Timely feedback at each sign-off point

No black box

What stays visible to you

A written scope and estimate before work starts

A staging site you can review at any time

Version-controlled code and documented handover

Planned releases with a rollback ready

FAQs

Questions about our process

How long does a project take?

It depends on scope and complexity, so we give you a timeline in the plan stage rather than quoting a standard duration. A focused project, where discovery and planning are combined into one short brief, is quicker than a phased build with several integrations and a fuller discovery phase.

Will I see work before launch?

Yes. Everything is built on a staging site you can review at any time, with regular reviews during the build rather than a big reveal at the end. You sign off at each stage before we move on, and you receive working builds to review as they take shape.

What happens if the scope changes?

We discuss it with you straight away, explain the effect on time and cost, and agree any change in writing before doing the extra work. Because the scope and estimate are written down and signed off before the build starts, it is clear what has changed.

Do you provide support after launch?

Yes. The improve stage covers support, optimisation and the next phase, based on how the work performs, with reporting and recommendations for what to do next. We can also set up an ongoing development partnership if you want regular engineering support.

Who will I be dealing with?

You will have a named point of contact and work directly with the people doing the build. We ask for a clear owner on your side who can make decisions and give timely feedback at each sign-off. You can meet the StudioRav team here.

How do I get a price?

Send us a short brief via the quote page. We confirm the scope with you and then provide a written estimate, rather than an instant price. The scope, approach, estimate and timeline are then agreed for sign-off in the plan stage, before any build work starts.
